Encarezca, Señor, vuestro Soneto
el Coro de Minerva misterioso,
y a vos en el Museo y en el Coso,
el amor os admire, y el respeto.

Elegante, y prudente en el conceto,
y en la palestra militar brioso,
siempre dejar a la atención dudoso,
lo más en lo valiente, y lo discreto.

Asombro sois de Marte, y sois de Apolo,
cuando, blandiendo la luciente pluma,
cuando, rigiendo la veloz espada.

Con vos tenéis la competencia sólo,
o se rinda la envidia, o se consuma,
todo, fuera de vos, parece nada.
