Vuelve del campo el labrador cansado,
y mientras se restaura en fácil cena,
para nuevo trabajo se condena,
que al venidero sol quedó obligado.
Cuando descansa en el rincón su arado,
con hoz la vid sin pámpanos cercena;
siega la mies y la vendimia ordena,
y luego al yugo vuelve ya olvidado.
Es el trabajo propio a los mortales,
en el cual los alivia la esperanza
con premio que a trabajo nuevo llama.
Así pasan los bienes por los males,
así sustenta al mundo la mudanza,
y así es tirano en él quien la desama.
