Muros, ya muros no, sino trasunto
de nuestras breves glorias y blasones,
pues tiene puesto el mundo en opiniones
si sois o no reliquias de Sagunto;

donde estuvo la fe tan en su punto,
que ejemplo sois a todas las naciones,
resistiendo a los ruegos, a los dones
y al poder de Cartago todo junto;

de hoy más juntos los vuestros y mis males
se cuenten, pues la fe perpetua y pura,
y el tiempo, los han hecho tan iguales.

Y pues os ha dejado la ventura
memoria y sepultura de leales,
dadme también memoria y sepultura.
