Mira, Cintia, el poder de aquel dios fiero,
que aun hasta el mismo cielo guerra mueve,
con duras armas y con vuelo leve,
tardo al sanar, pero al herir ligero;

advierte más, que de su ardor severo,
no sólo el hombre su ponzoña bebe,
mas entre crespa escarcha y riza nieve
enamora los gatos por enero;

mira la miza como lisonjera
del mizo atiende a los maullidos gratos,
obedeciendo a amor sin pataratas.

¡Ah cruel! ¡Ah tirana! ¡Ah Cintia fiera!
Yo no digo que aprendas de los gatos,
pero aprende siquiera de las gatas.
