De La república al revés

¿Contó jamás la mentirosa fama
igual suceso y caso de esta suerte
en cuantas partes de sus plumas vierte
las nubes portentosas que derrama?

¿Contó jamás de un hombre que en la llama
se abrasa de amor, dios, cobarde y fuerte,
que pretende gozar y dar la muerte
a un mismo tiempo a quien adora y ama?

Rigor es inaudito y sin segundo;
mas, por vivir, a hacerle me provoco,
pues en su ejecución mi vida fundo.

Cuente la fama, pues, mi intento loco,
que yo sé que dirá después el mundo
que en un reino al revés todo esto es poco.
