De La venganza de Tamar
Besar la mano donde el labio ha puesto
su príncipe, un vasallo, es hecho aleve;
que el vaso se reserva donde bebe,
el caballo, el vestido y el real puesto.
Como hermano, es mi agravio manifiesto;
como amante, a furor mi pecho mueve.
¡Ídolo de mi amor, hermana leve!,
¿tan presto atormentar? ¿Celos tan presto?
Como amante ofendido y como hermano:
a locura y venganza me provocas,
daré la muerte a tu Joab villano,
y cuando niegues tus mudanzas locas,
desmentirate tu besada mano,
pues por tener con qué, beso dos bocas.
