De La joya de las montañas
Sale el sol por el cielo luminoso
las nubes pardas de oro perfilando,
y con su luz los montes matizando
ilustra el campo su zafir hermoso.
Veloz pasa su curso muy furioso
y cuando la quietud solicitando
halla otro mundo que vociferando
al sol le pide su esplendor hermoso,
a la campaña salgo defendido
de fuertes rayos de mi estoque ardiente
a quien se rinde el bárbaro vencido.
Y cuando del descanso solamente
busco un instante, torpe mi sentido
me acomete el amor eternamente.
