- XXXVII - Efectos contrarios de la voluntad
Quiero, y no quiero lo que solicito,
y aborrezco lo mismo que deseo,
a la lisonja del deleite creo,
y envuelto en mis agravios le repito.
Todo el acuerdo a la memoria quito,
todo el contento en el pesar empleo,
y a proseguir la ceguedad que veo,
me lleva la costumbre del delito.
Este mal de mi alma es un afecto.
Medio, en el albedrío tan confuso,
que ni su nombre, ni su ser se alcanza.
Pasión, que a hurto del amor perfecto,
la voluntad engendra con el uso
del apetito, y la desconfianza.
