Confieso tu poder, ¡oh Amor!, rendido:
tu hierro en mí tal dice, y mi cuidado;
baste, ¡oh fuerte gigante!, haber poblado
brete que tantas veces han vestido.
Sufre tu planta un cuello que no ha sido
tantas veces, ¡oh fiero!, sujetado,
que merezca desprecio, desechado
ya por común, por vil, ya por fingido.
¿Qué me quieres, cruel? Entre unos ojos,
llamándolos mi bien, hallé mi muerte,
dichosa, por ser tú la causa de ella.
Deja la aljaba, afloja el arco fuerte,
que ella me niega sangre, y mis enojos
volverá, y tú podrás mejor vertella.
