¿Adónde iré que puedan socorrerme,
si por amor, o por mi desconcierto,
mi fortuna es mayor dentro en el puerto,
y al bien faltó poder para valerme?

Quiero acabar mil veces de perderme,
y sacar de locura algún concierto;
mas no puede natura verme muerto,
y a mi pesar se pone en defenderme.

Comienza en esto el ansia del remedio,
y el porfiar que no me esfuerzo harto,
y el cargar más trabajo de esforzarme.

Mientras más voy, más lejos voy del medio;
con esto he de parar, y el mal reparto
en sufrir, en llorar y en lastimarme.
