Amor de mis engaños no se harta;
burlando está de mí de punto en punto;
en toda parte que con él me junto,
de ceguedad mi alma queda harta.
¿Quién habrá ya que tanto mal desparta?
Veo mi bien, a mi parecer, junto;
corro tras él, y siempre está en un punto;
ni llego yo, ni él, pienso que se aparta.
La prisa del correr mayor se hace
con el gran esperar, y con la ira
de no alcanzar lo que tan cerca veo.
Hago verdad lo que quizá es mentira;
sólo admite el querer lo que le place,
que mal se desengaña un gran deseo.
