Apagadas del sol las luces bellas
del crespo mar en el undoso hielo,
Argos del mundo, desvelado el cielo,
abrió por ojos multitud de estrellas.

Del ronco mar se oyeron las querellas,
que vuelve el eco en repetido anhelo,
y el Céfiro, con próvido desvelo,
despertaba las flores con su huellas.

Aun en el caos de la noche oscura
no sosegaron plantas ni animales
de las fatigas del prolijo día.

Cintia, mira el poder de tu hermosura
que, condolidos todos de mis males,
todos velaban, pero yo dormía.
